CHICAGO — More than 120 firefighters and other emergency crews battled a multi-alarm fire that ravaged a North Lawndale building Friday, officials said.
The blaze was not under control as of 5:15 p.m., a Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman said from the scene at 2537 W. 16th St.
No one had been injured in the fire as of Friday evening, officials said.
The second floor of the two-story building was unoccupied residential space, and the convenience store on the first floor was unoccupied at the time of the fire, the spokeswoman said.
