CHICAGO — A West Side man was killed near a vacant lot in West Garfield Park Monday evening.
Tyrone Scott, 43, was shot in the 4300 block of West Van Buren Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said the victim was standing on the street near a vacant lot about 5 p.m. when an unknown man approached and shot him multiple times in the chest. The gunman then fled on foot and the victim was dead on the scene, cops said.
Scott, of the 4200 block of West Jackson Boulevard, was a convicted felon and witnesses were not cooperating, authorities said.
Nobody was in custody as of Tuesday morning.
