CHICAGO — Chicago's outdoor ice skating rinks opened for business on Friday, Nov. 23.

There are eight rinks to choose from, including The Rink at Wrigley and the lone indoor facility at the McFetridge Sports Center, 3843 N. California Ave.

Admission is free at all rinks except for Wrigley and McFetridge.

All locations charge skate rental fees, ranging from $3 to $10. Skating hours and days vary at each rink.

Other ice rinks in Chicago are located at McKinley Park, 2210 W. Pershing Rd.; Midway Plaisance Park, 1130 Midway Plaisance North; Mt. Greenwood Park, 3724 W. 111t St.; Riis Park, 6100 W. Fullerton Ave.; Rowan Park, 11546 S. Avenue L; and Warren Park, 6601 N. Western Ave.

The McFetridge rink recently underwent a complete renovation and reopened in September.

Online registration for other park district winter programs opened Monday for parks west of California Avenue, and Tuesday for parks east of California Avenue.

In-person registration begins Dec. 1 at most parks.
