LAKEVIEW — The 16th annual Halloween on Halsted parade shook up the status quo with "Chicagolicious" reality star guest judges and a parade direction change up.

Katrell and MaCray, from the Style network's reality show "Chicagolicious," kicked off the evening with preliminary judging for the costume competition at Circuit Nightclub. Competitors took to the stage, modeled their elaborate looks, and the celebrity judges took notes.

"I do not even like Halloween," MaCray said. "But it's for charity, and it's just fun!"

Katrell, who was born and raised in the South in a conservative Baptist family, said her mom never let her dress up for Halloween.

"I've been bugging MaCray for the last couple of weeks to get a costume together," said Katrell, who wore a black hooded sweater and said she was channeling Grace Jones from the Eddie Murphy movie "Boomerang."

MaCray didn't dress up himself, but said he was very impressed with costumes on the parade route.

"The mermaid couple, the drag queens," MaCray said. "I'm like, 'Oh my god.'"
