LOGAN SQUARE — The mystery is over.

The McDonald's at Milwaukee and Spaulding avenues demolished a few weeks ago will be replaced with...a McDonald's.

But it will be a "greener," more eco-friendly McDonald's, according to Marisol Rodriguez, aide to 35th Ward Ald. Rey Colon. Colon's office sits right across the street and faces the site where crews have been working to prepare the site for new construction.

McDonald's did not return repeated requests for information, but Rodriguez said the new franchise was scheduled to open sometime in mid-December.
