LAKEVIEW — The man who sells shrimp to Blackbird, Naha and mfk. will make a special appearance at this week's Low-Line Market.

Marek Wolanowski is planning to sell his Gulf Coast White saltwater shrimp outside the Southport Brown Line station from 3-8 p.m. Thursday.

Wolanowski raises the shrimp on a sustainable farm in Indiana, according to market manager Elsa Jacobson. A water recirculating system keeps out antibiotics, chemicals, hormones and steroids.

The shrimp are used in restaurants like Blackbird, Elizabeth, Naha and mfk., Jacobson said. Wolanowski is also a regular vendor at Lincoln Park's Green City Market.

This week will be Wolanowski's first trip to the Lakeview market.
