COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Skokie woman was arrested Wednesday, almost a month after using a beer mug as a weapon against a patron at the West Town watering hole Grandbar, according to court records.

Vanessa Suarez, 39, of the 9030 block of North Kenton Street in Skokie, is charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery, one for causing great bodily harm and the second for using a deadly weapon.

The deadly weapon, a glass mug in this case, left lacerations in the face of a 41-year-old woman requiring 150 stitches, according to court records.

Grandbar, 1600 W. Grand Avenue, is a late-night spot open until 5 a.m. on Saturdays, according to the bar's website.

The bloody bar fight went down at 2:30 a.m. almost a month ago, on March 16. But Suarez, who suffered a cut to her right hand and had to seek medical attention, was not arrested until Wednesday when she turned herself in to police.

Suarez was ordered held on $300,000 bond Thursday by Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan.
