Patrick Hedlund

Managing Editor @patrickhedlund Contact

Patrick Hedlund is the managing editor of DNAinfo, overseeing daily newsroom operations and leading the site's social media team.

He has spent his entire career working in newspapers and magazines in New York City, first as a sports reporter in The Bronx and eventually as the editor of a Manhattan weekly.

During his time as a reporter and editor, he spearheaded the launch of Brooklyn borough coverage for a newspaper in Queens, broke stories on issues ranging from politics to development, and amassed numerous awards for his work.

Patrick took his first job at the Pulitzer Prize-winning weekly The Riverdale Press, leading him to reporting jobs in four of the five boroughs (Staten Island apparently wasn't hiring), and finally as editor of the award-winning newspaper Chelsea Now.

Fun Fact: Patrick got a contact high while covering the Chelsea Hotel and its carnival of characters during a particularly difficult time for the legendary lodge, but he never attempted to do anything creative nor drink himself to death while there.
