Ben Fractenberg

Reporter/Producer @fractenberg Contact

Ben Fractenberg is a general assignment reporter for DNAinfo.

Ben left a career in the nonprofit world in 2008 to join the lucrative field of news reporting. After attending the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, Ben joined the ranks of DNAinfo, quickly establishing himself as a crime and breaking news reporter.

Ben’s nonprofit work included working for Public Allies, where he helped develop young leaders for a career in public service, and at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, where he ensured fair representations of the LGBT community in the media.

When not immersed in the media world, Ben loves to spend his time exploring New York City. He lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, with his girlfriend, who mostly puts up with his addictions to the news and to arcane music trivia.

Fun Fact: Ben’s first car was a bright orange 1978 Dodge Omni. Needless to say, this did not improve his situation with the ladies in high school.
