MANHATTAN — A teen was arrested in North Carolina for opening fire on a 12-year-old boy on Columbus Avenue after an officer in his home state recognized him from NYPD surveillance footage, authorities said.

Joshua Wilson, 17, was busted outside Raleigh on April 17 and charged with shooting at the boy following an argument in front of the Columbus Center Enterprise near 105th Street, according to the NYPD and Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect fired once at the boy after losing an argument on April 11, officials said. He fled north on Columbus Avenue and was later tracked to the Raleigh area after a school safety officer who worked in his high school recognized surveillance footage of Wilson and contacted the NYPD.

Wilson was still in North Carolina Friday and was expected to extradited to Manhattan.

It was not immediately clear when he would be brought back to New York.
