QUEENS VILLAGE — A man with tattoos on his face and neck who tried to grab a 12-year-old girl off a street in Queens was busted Sunday after police identified him using facial recognition technology, according to the NYPD.
Vladimir Suero, 38, of Brooklyn, is facing charges of harassment and acting in a manner injurious to a child following the incident on Thursday afternoon, in which he grabbed the girl's arm as she was walking with her mother in front of the Key Food store at 213-22 Jamaica Ave.
He told the girl, "You're coming with me," but ran away after her mother intervened, police said.
The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect on Saturday, which showed him with a tattoo of a cross on his forehead and another of a Playboy bunny on his neck.
Suero was arrested the next day after being matched to the crime through facial recognition technology, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.
He is currently being held on $5,000 bail and is due back in court on Sept. 8, records show. His defense attorney could not immediately be reached Monday.
