Woman Fatally Shot in Head During Fight Between Feuding Groups, Sources Say

By Ewa Kern-Jedrychowska | August 16, 2017 11:32am

QUEENS — A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot in the head on a St. Albans street as part of an ongoing feud involving her friends and another group that turned deadly Tuesday, police said.

Teriana Holcombe was found with a gunshot wound to the head at the corner of 198th Street and Murdock Avenue, about 10 blocks away from where she lived, just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Holcombe, of Cambria Heights, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The shooting was sparked by an ongoing dispute between two groups that have been fighting for years, sources said.

Earlier that night, two of Holcombe's friends got into a fight with members of the other group, sources said.

Her friends left, but returned later with her and others to resume the spat, when someone in the other group shot Holcombe, police and sources said.

Investigators didn't provide any suspect description, and there were no immediate arrests.

It also wasn't clear what the feud was about.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

There were no other injuries in the shooting, FDNY officials said.
