BROOKLYN — The man who stole a $1,000 stroller from a Fort Greene stoop was arrested Monday after his mother saw video of the theft and convinced her son to return the buggy and turn himself in, according to the officials and sources.

Police first said Jonathan Rios, 23, was picked up by authorities on Carlton Avenue where the robbery took place, but on Wednesday said he turned himself at the precinct on Classon and Dekalb avenues.

Rios was caught on video grabbing the stroller from a brownstone on the block near Willoughby Avenue several days prior.

The 35-year-old father who owned the stroller gave investigators clear video of the buggy bandit and his mother recognized him walking off with the stroller.

Rios then returned it to authorities Monday morning at this mother's urging and admitted to officials that he swiped it on March 30, according to sources and court papers.

Rios, who lives in Midwood, was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

He was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Monday and released without bail, according to court records.

Editors note: Police originally said that Rios was arrested when he returned to the scene of the theft, but later said he turned himself in at the precinct.
