DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — From felt dolls to Lego models, a new art exhibit honoring legendary neighborhood figures and locations is coming to the Brooklyn Historical Society

The Downtown Brooklyn Legends pop-up gallery, featuring the work of 21 different artists, will debut at 128 Pierrepont St. on Dec. 9 and run through Dec. 31.

The works honor 10 Brooklyn "legends:" Junior’s Restaurant, Westinghouse High School, Fulton Mall, Gage & Tollner Restaurant, chef Edna Lewis, Beat Street Records, Albee Square, Dime Savings Bank, Vaudeville theaters and the Fulton Street elevated line.

Visitors can see a felt and fabric doll of Lewis, head chef at the famed Gage & Tollner Restaurant by artist Julia Velarde that comes complete with a tiny rolling pin and cooking ingredients.

There’s also a Lego replica of Junior’s Restaurant; a large wooden mural of George Westinghouse High School alums Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Biggie and DMX; a series of colorful drawings showing Fulton Mall; and a vaudeville poster hung in an ornate golden frame.

The exhibit is being curated by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership in celebration of its 10th anniversary, in collaboration with Grumpy Bert Gallery, the Brooklyn Historical Society and artist Steve Powers.

The pop-up gallery will be on display Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., and entry is free.

The artwork will be available for purchase, with the proceeds going directly to the artists.
