DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are investigating after Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams received a letter containing a death threat, officials said.

The letter arrived at Adams’ office at Borough Hall, at 209 Joralemon St., around 3 p.m. Friday, police said.

The letter stated that “well-trained” killers would assassinate the borough president, the Daily News reported.

“We approach every threat in a serious manner,” said Stefan Ringel, Adams' communications director, in a statement.

“The letter was promptly reported to the NYPD, which is having its Intelligence Division investigate the matter.”

Ringel did not specify the nature of the letter, but highlighted the former police officer’s appreciation for the NYPD.

“No one has a deeper appreciation than Borough President Adams for the safety and security risks we face in this city, and no one has a deeper admiration for the tireless work that New York’s Finest does to safeguard us either,” he added.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.
