FORT GREENE — A 19-year-old Long Island University student was found dead in a campus bathroom stall Wednesday, police said.

Edmund Otoo, who was from Wakefield, was found unconscious in a stall at the Fort Greene campus off Flatbush Avenue at about 6:30 p.m., according to the NYPD. First responders pronounced Otoo dead at the scene.

There was nothing immediately suspicious about his death, an NYPD spokesman said.

The medical examiner will determine his cause of death.

"On behalf of the LIU community, we are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our students," an LIU spokeswoman said in a statement Thursday. "Our most sincere condolences are with his family and loved ones. During this difficult time, the University requests respect for the privacy and needs of family and friends affected by this loss."
