EAST VILLAGE — Target will open a new East 14th Street location by summer of 2018, reps for the retail chain have confirmed.

The chain will open a two-level store at 500 E. 14th St. near Avenue A, according to a spokeswoman.

The location will hawk "locally-relevant" offerings for East Village residents, the spokeswoman said, including clothing, food, "urban" apartment and condo decor, and portable technology.

The announcement comes soon after property records surfaced confirming that Target signed a lease for a commercial space attached to a seven-story mixed-use development from the Extell Development Company.

The entire development will span 500 to 524 E. 14th St. and will hold 160 apartments — 32 of which will be below-market-rate — and two retailers.

Though the second retailer is still unknown, Extell's vice president of development told DNAinfo New York in May that grocer Trader Joe's is interested in the space.

Target already operates a Manhattan store in East Harlem, and is opening a new TriBeCa location in October.
