Man Fatally Shot Outside Commodore Barry Park in Ft. Greene, Police Say

FORT GREENE — A local man was shot and killed by a gunman wearing a bandana over his face outside Commodore Barry Park over the weekend , police said.

Farragut Houses resident Akming Albritton, 25, was shot several times in the torso only blocks from his home by an unknown suspect as he was standing on the street opposite 15 North Elliott Place just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. 

He was taken to Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

The shooter — who was wearing a bandana over his face and a dark-colored hat at the time — fled in an unknown direction, police said.

No arrests have been made.
