DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A man threw a bag of garbage through a car window, shattering the glass and injuring a passenger, during a road rage incident last week in Downtown Brooklyn, according to officials.

Joshua Roth, 40, began the assault on a driver at Hoyt Street and Atlantic Avenue around 10:45 a.m. April 29 by throwing a plastic bottle at his car, prosecutors said.

Roth then grabbed a garbage can and pretended to throw it at the car, before taking out the full bag of garbage inside and chucking it at the passenger’s side window, shattering the glass and hitting the passenger in the face, prosecutors said.

Police said the passenger sustained a cut to the forehead. Information on the passenger or the driver was not immediately available.

Officials did not say what led to the dispute.

Roth was charged with assault, menacing, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and harassment. He was released without bail, and a judge issued a temporary order of protection against him, according to court records.

Attorney information for Roth was not immediately available.

He's due back in court on June 23, records show.
