14- and 15-Year-Old Boys Wounded in Vinegar Hill Shooting, Police Say

BROOKLYN — Two boys aged 14 and 15 were wounded in a Vinegar Hill shooting Monday night, a day after two other boys the same age were shot near the Brooklyn Museum, police said.

The boys got into a dispute with two other males outside 79 Bridge St., near Front Street, about 10:23 p.m. Monday, an NYPD spokesman said.

Someone pulled a gun and shot the boys, hitting the 14-year-old in the left arm and the other in his right thigh, police said.

Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, police said.

There were no immediate arrests, police said.

The Monday shooting follows another in Brooklyn on Sunday night, police said.

Two boys, also 14 and 15, were celebrating a Trinidadian holiday in Mount Prospect Park when they were hit by a hail of gunfire, police said.

The eldest was struck five times and the younger only once, police said. They were both taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Investigators don't believe there's any connection between the two shootings, an NYPD spokesman said.
