Woman Yanks Female Cyclist from Her Bike and Robs Her, Police Say

FORT GREENE — A woman yanked a female cyclist from her bicycle and robbed her as she was riding home on Lafayette Avenue, police said.

The victim was riding past Carlton Avenue around 8 p.m. on Aug. 5 when she was yanked from her bike by another woman who then grabbed her tote bag containing cash, an iPhone and keys, according to the NYPD.

The suspect then ran away on foot, police said.

The woman was not injured and no arrests were made, police said.

The suspect was described as weighing approximately 170 lbs., according to police.

In other news in the 88th Precinct:

• An unlocked home, on Emerson Place in Clinton Hill, was burglarized on July 25 around 10 p.m. The home, shared by three men, was routinely left unlocked, according to police. More than $1,200 worth of items, including a Samsung computer and Apple iPad, were taken from the apartment. No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
