BROOKLYN — Rush hour traffic was snarled Wednesday afternoon after a tractor-trailer crashed on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Brooklyn Bridge — forcing part of the highway to shut down, officials said.
The truck crashed about 5:30 p.m. on the highway near Sands and State streets, fire officials said.
Fuel leaked from the truck, emergency and fire officials, forcing them to close the eastbound lanes of the BQE at the Brooklyn Bridge.
The lanes were reopened three hours later, according to the city's Office of Emergency Management.
No one was injured, fire officials said.
