Gustavo Solis is a reporter/producer for DNAinfo covering Harlem.

Gustavo was born in Mexico City, grew up in San Diego and moved to New York City to study journalism at Columbia University. He enjoys writing about social justice issues and people doing interesting things.

Before joining DNAinfo New York, Gustavo spent hurricane season in Miami eating guava pastries and covering crime for the Miami Herald. He has interned for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the San Diego Union-Tribune.

He lives in the Upper West Side with two people he met on Craigslist.

Fun Fact: Gustavo had a mediocre high school wrestling career. His friends still call him the Sombrero Slammer.
