Reporter/Producer @alexandraaleon Contact

Alexandra Leon is a reporter/producer covering DUMBO, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill in Brooklyn.

Before coming to DNAinfo, she was the overnight digital content producer at NBC New York where she covered breaking news and managed the station’s social media accounts.

A Miami native, Alex started her reporting career at her hometown newspaper, The Miami Herald, where she worked on several beats including breaking news, local government, and entertainment. She also worked as a web producer for the Herald and El Nuevo Herald before moving to NBC Miami.

Alex has a B.S. in communications from the University of Miami where she studied journalism and English literature.

She lives in Crown Heights with three roommates, two humans and one feline.

FUN FACT: Alex was one of the first reporters on the scene during the “Miami zombie” attack — her editor sent her and another intern to cover it after hearing gunshots outside the newsroom.
