1-Bedrooms for $931 Per Month Up For Grabs in Downtown Brooklyn High-Rise

DOWNTOWN — Applications for affordable apartments in a luxury tower in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn opened Monday for nearly two dozen units — with one-bedroom units renting at $931 per month. 

Applicants can put their name in the running to score one of 22 apartments in the 105-unit building at 237 Duffield St., between Fulton and Willoughby streets. 

Eligible households must make 60 percent of the area median income, or between $31,612 and $57,240 depending on the size of the apartment and the number of residents.

One studio up for grabs is priced at $867 per month, along with 18 one-bedrooms at $931 per month and three two-bedrooms for $1,123 per month, according to the listing.

Developer Castle Rock Equities is erecting the 21-story complex with amenities including a roof deck, common room lounge with television and internet, and a "virtual doorman," according to the city's listing. 

As part of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development's 421-a program, Castle Rock will receive a tax exemption for the units. 

Applicants can apply online or by mail through the city’s Housing Connect site no later than Nov. 30.
