FAR ROCKAWAY — An unlicensed driver struck and killed a jogger who was running in a crosswalk late Thursday night, police said.
Furtema Derrick, 31, was driving east on Seagirt Boulevard near Beach 29th Street in Far Rockaway just before midnight when she hit the 36-year-old man, according to police.
She struck him in the crosswalk of the intersection as he jogged south on Beach 29th Street toward Seagirt Boulevard, police said.
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Derrick, who lives in Far Rockaway, remained at the scene and was arrested for driving without a license. She's expected to be arraigned Friday in Queens Criminal Court.
