CLINTON HILL — This robbery was not entirely seamless.

A trio of hungry bandits stuck up a delivery driver in a violent robbery in Clinton Hill after one of the robbers lured the victim in with a food order, according to a police report.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, delivered $38 worth of food to 101 Quincy St. between Franklin and Classon avenues just after 1:35 a.m. on June 29, but when he arrived the caller began stalling, reaching into his pockets, pulling out crumpled pieces of paper, and looking at his phone, according to a police spokesman.

While he kept the victim waiting, two other men approached wearing black hoodies, and as the exasperated delivery man got back back into his car, one of the black-clad bandits flashed a handgun as the other reached in the driver-side door, punched the victim, and grabbed the grub, dashing toward Classon Avenue each holding a bag of food, according to a police spokesman.

Surveillance footage of the scene showed the original caller standing back and looking away as the robbers dashed off with the food, but he is seen moments later as he appears to wave them off with a slight hand movement, a police spokesman said.

A short while later the first man headed in the opposite direction toward Franklin Avenue and turned left, police said.

Police did not specify what kind of food the robbers ran off with, but a spokesman said the victim was pulling double duty that night for a local pizza joint and another restaurant in the area. He fled in his car after the robbery and refused medical attention after reporting in the crime, police said.
