BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information about a double shooting in Bed-Stuy that left two young mothers dead, according to the NYPD.
Police need information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooters who opened fire on a crowded Bed-Stuy courtyard last week, killing Chynna Battle, 21, and Shaqwanda Staley, 29, police said.

Investigators are currently trying to identify a group of four men, two of whom were the shooters, who entered the courtyard at 760 Gates Ave. July 12 and opened fire on the crowd, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.
Battle and Staley, each of whom had a young daughter, are believed to have been innocent bystanders, and police believe the shooters may have been aiming for someone sitting near them, Boyce said. Investigators think the incidents may have been an attempted retaliation for an earlier shooting this May, Boyce said Monday.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit tips on the website.
