BROOKLYN — A was found dead lying naked with a pillow over his face in the bed of his DUMBO apartment, sources said.
Neil Smith, 57, was found unconscious on the bed of his apartment at 1 Main St., near Water Street, about 1:45 p.m. Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, NYPD officials said.
It wasn't immediately clear how Smith died, and the Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, police said. He doesn't appear to have died of natural causes, sources said.
A Columbian man who was staying in the apartment with his wife told investigators that Smith had a visitor over at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to sources and a New York Daily News report, but the guest added that he never saw the visitor.
The Columbian guest then discovered Smith dead on Monday afternoon, the paper reported.
Investigators are also reviewing security footage and interviewing people who were nearby at the time, police said.
There were no immediate arrests, police said.
