DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The NYPD is looking for help identifying a man who attacked a woman after he delivered a misogynist and racist rant on the 4 train last week.

The 32-year-old victim got on the train at about 7:15 p.m. on May 22, and entered a car where the suspect was preaching “anti-women and anti-white remarks,” according to the police department.

The suspect began berating a black woman on the train at which time the victim, who is white, confronted the suspect, police said.

An argument broke out and the suspect hit the 32-year-old woman several times with his baseball cap, then punched her in the face as the doors opened at the Nevins Street station.

The man fled the station on foot.

The victim suffered a cut lip, but was otherwise unharmed, police said.

The NYPD released a photo Friday taken by the victim on her phone. It shows the suspect, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, wearing a black shirt under a tan vest and a black hat.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, (888) 57-PISTA (74782).
