FORT GREENE — An Ingersoll Houses resident was fatally stabbed inside his apartment Sunday morning, the NYPD said.

James Johnson, 41, was found by police inside his fourth-floor apartment at 30 Fleet Walk in Fort Greene just after 6 a.m. Sunday. He was found with multiple stab wounds to the torso, police said, and a knife was recovered from the scene of the crime.

A 42-year-old man was taken into custody by NYPD officers from the apartment, police said, but has not yet been charged because he has been hospitalized for undisclosed injuries.

As of Tuesday morning, no suspect has been charged, the police department said.

Brooklyn News 12 reported a witnesses described the victim and suspect as a couple.
