DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are searching for a man who slapped a woman aboard a 2 train near the Borough Hall station, the NYPD said.

The 30-year-old victim was riding on the northbound train around 8:30 a.m. Friday when the suspect slapped her on the left side of the face, police said.

The attacker then got off the train at the Borough Hall station and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene. It was unclear what led the suspect to strike the woman.

Police released a surveillance photo of the man, who they described as about 35 years old, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue skull cap, a red-and-white coat and black jeans, according to police.
