CLINTON HILL — Police are looking for a group of suspects who blindfolded and robbed a man at knifepoint after offering to help him carry his drunk roommate into their apartment following a night out, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was helping carry his roommate, also 28, into their apartment near Gates and Clinton avenues around 2 a.m. on March 5 after the two had been drinking earlier that night, police said.

Three men and a woman approached their pair, and the woman offered to help the man get his friend into the apartment while she and the other suspects followed them inside, police said.

While they were in the building, one of the suspects took the victims' house keys, police said.

An hour and a half later, two of the men returned to the victims' apartment while the residents were sleeping, police said.

They woke up one of the victims, blindfolded him and placed a knife to his neck, forcing him to fork over his debit card and PIN number, according to police.

One of the suspects then left the apartment and withdrew cash from an ATM at 909 Fulton St., police said.

The thieves also ransacked the place — stealing a TV, three cellphones, two laptops, an iPad, three credit cards and $400 in cash, police said.

Officials described all the suspects as between 18 and 22 years old.

The woman wore a light-colored jacket, a light-colored scarf and dark pants.

One of the male suspects wore a gray jacket and white pants, another wore a black jacket and glasses, and the third wore a light-blue knitted cap and a dark-colored coat, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
