BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A water main break at Montague and Court streets flooded the Court Street Station Thursday afternoon, triggering delays on the R and Q trains at the start of the evening rush, officials said.
The FDNY received a call about the break at 156 Montague St., just outside the Court Street station, at roughly 3:15 p.m., according to a spokesman.
The Department of Environmental Protection was on scene and stopped the leaking 12-inch pipe, a spokesman said.
R trains were running on the Q line from Canal Street to DeKalb Avenue in both directions as a result, the MTA said.
The MTA posted photos from inside the Court Street station showing firefighters wading through ankle-deep water.

Doorman Sham Ramdeen said he saw "a lot of water running" down the street when he arrived at 166 Montague St. at about 3 p.m. for work.
Ramdeen added that there was flooding in the basement of his building and a nearby restaurant lost power.
