Subway Conductor Punched as Train Pulls into Fulton St. Station, Police Say

FORT GREENE — An MTA conductor got punched in the head while her train was pulling into the Fulton Street G station, according to police and transit officials.

The 32-year-old victim stuck her head outside the train’s window and looked toward the back of the train as it was pulling into the station at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 18, police said.

As she turned to look forward, an attacker punched her on top of the head, police said.

The conductor was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for treatment, police said.

An MTA spokesman confirmed the woman was an MTA conductor but declined to provide further details.

Other notable crimes from the 88th Precinct include:

► A burglar stole $12,745 in jewelry from a 29-year-old woman’s apartment on Washington Avenue, near Gates Avenue, sometime between 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 3 and 6 p.m. on Feb. 12, police said. The burglar took a diamond engagement ring, diamond earrings and a Pandora charm bracelet. 

► A suspect asked to use a 25-year-old man’s phone at Fort Greene Park around 1 p.m. on Feb. 14, and when the victim took out the phone, the person snatched it out of his hand and ran off, police said. 

► A 45-year-old woman caught an attempted burglar who was trying to break her window by cracking it with a screwdriver while she was in her apartment on Washington Avenue, near Greene Avenue, around 12:40 p.m. on Feb. 15, police said. The suspect fled to the roof of the building and left through the building’s main entrance.
