Rock band My Morning Jacket will head to Queens this summer for the first time, where the group will perform at the recently renovated Forest Hills Stadium on July 15, the organizers announced Monday.
Originally from Kentucky, the band known for its country roots, will perform with Texas-based blues singer and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. as the opening act.
The concert will be the band’s only New York City performance this year.
This year’s lineup at the stadium will also include Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, who will play there on July 26 and 27, The xx, slated to perform on May 19 and Sigur Rós, on June 17.
Tickets for the July 15 show, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., will range from $63.50 to $73.50, according to the Forest Hills Stadium. They will go on sale Jan. 27 at 10 a.m.
One dollar from every ticket purchased will benefit My Morning Jacket’s Waterfall Project, an initiative started by the band in 2015 to support various nonprofits, the organizers said.
