English Indie Group The xx Set to Perform in Forest Hills This Spring

QUEENS — Indie pop group The xx will perform at the Forest Hills Stadium this spring, the organizers announced.

The London-based band, known for their sensual and catchy music, will play in Queens on Friday, May 19 as part of their "I See You Tour," named after their third album which will be released Jan. 13.

After the May 19 show sold out, a second show was added to be played on Saturday, May 20, the stadium announced on Jan. 30.

The trio of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith will tour North America between April 14 and May 26, including performances at the Coachella music festival in California on April 14 and 21.

The group recently released their video for “On Hold,” the first single from "I See You, which was shot in Marfa, Texas, where the band recorded a portion of the album.

This year’s lineup at the recently renovated Forest Hills Stadium will also include Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, who will play there on July 26 and 27, and Sigur Rós, scheduled to perform on June 17.

Tickets for The xx shows ranged from $45 to $75, according to the organizers. The concerts are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. (Doors will open at 6 p.m.)
