CLINTON HILL — An officer was beaten over the head with a flashlight and two others were injured after pulling over a car that reeked of marijuana, police said.

The officers stopped the 2008 Ford Mustang around 10:45 p.m. Thursday at Irving Place and Fulton Street because the driver’s-side front window was heavily tinted, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

As officers approached, they noticed a strong odor of pot coming from the car, police said.

The officers discovered the marijuana when the passengers stepped out of the car, at which point the suspects began to strike the officers, the NYPD said.

One of the officers was beaten over the head multiple times with a flashlight, suffering multiple bruises to his face and an injury to the back of his head.

He was treated at Methodist Hospital, where he received 12 staples to close the cut on the back of his head, the Daily News reported.

The other two officers suffered bruises to the head, police said. It was not clear whose flashlight the suspects used in the beating.

Driver Adam Barreto, 18, and passengers Marc Barreto, 20, Arron Barreto, 16, and Sonia Guidos, 19, were arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

Additionally, Arron Barreto was charged with criminal possession of marijuana for having 25 grams of the drug on him. Marc Barreto was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, according to police.

Attorney information for the suspects was not available. They were awaiting arraignment as of Friday afternoon, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office said.
