By Aidan Gardiner | December 21, 2016 1:47pm

BROOKLYN — Seven people were hurt, two of them seriously, falling down a malfunctioning escalator at the Atlantic Terminal mall Tuesday night, officials said.

They tumbled down the second floor escalator inside 625 Atlantic Ave., near Flatbush Avenue, about 6 p.m., officials said.

The two who were seriously hurt were listed in stable condition at Lutheran Medical Center, the FDNY spokesman said.

The five others were also treated for minor injuries at the same hospital, officials said.

The escalator was labeled as malfunctioning and and the Department of Buildings was notified, according to the agency's website.

It was unclear if the escalator was going up or down.

"We have no comment at this time> It is still an active investigation," said Michael Rapfogel, a spokesman for Atlantic Terminal.
