DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A hungry thief took off with more than $65 worth of food from Mexican fast food restaurant Rocco’s Tacos in Downtown Brooklyn, according to police.

The man was trying to pay for his food at the restaurant, at 339 Adams St., around 6:45 p.m. when his card was declined, according to a police report.

Instead of trying to pay with another card, the suspect ran off with $11.50 worth of empanadas, a $4.25 order of chips and salsa, a $14.50 chicken quesadilla and two steak quesadillas worth $35, police said.

The man was using a fake credit card, according to the report.

Police said the culprit is about 21 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

A manager at Rocco’s Tacos declined to comment.
