Thief Snatches $160 Jordan Sneakers From 14-Year-Old Boy, Police Say

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — What a sneak.

A thief snatched a 14-year-old boy’s pricey Nike Jordan sneakers from his hands as he was walking near Bond and Fulton streets at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, according to a police report. 

The suspect ran off and the boy ran after him, but lost sight of him, police said.

The sneakers were worth $160, according to police.

No arrests have been made.

Other notable crimes from the 84th Precinct, which includes Downtown Brooklyn and DUMBO, include:

► A 65-year-old woman’s jewelry was stolen from a safe while she was staying at the Aloft Hotel at 216 Duffield St. between Oct. 28 and Nov. 1, police said. The woman discovered the missing jewels after she received a call from the hotel on the day she checked out saying she had forgotten her belongings in the safe. When she checked the safe, she found that she was missing a diamond ring, two pairs of earrings, and a set of moonstone accessories worth a total of $14,750, police said. A hotel employee declined to comment on the theft. 

► A 24-year-old woman was walking near the corner of Front and Bridge streets in Vinegar Hill around 9:05 p.m. on Oct. 31 when a 15-year-old boy pushed her, grabbed her cellphone and ran off, police said.

► A woman stole $2,200 in cash, a $2,000 gift card, an ID, credit cards and insurance cards from a 26-year-old woman inside the GAP at 400 Fulton St. around 1:44 p.m. on Nov. 3, police said. A manager at the store declined to comment.

► A 40-inch Samsung television, a DVD player and a Time Warner cable box were stolen from C’s World of Beauty at 305 Livingston St. sometime between 11 p.m. on Nov 4. And 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, police said. An employee at the store declined to comment.

► Two teens attacked a 22-year-old woman and stole her iPhone 5s after they asked her to use it around 7:05 p.m. on Nov. 5, police said. The teens punched her in the face and pulled her hair before fleeing onto northbound Pearl Street.
