Rent a Studio for $833 a Month in a High-Rise Just Steps from BAM

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Applications open Friday for 150 affordable apartments in a high-rise located just steps from the Brooklyn Academy of Music — including studios starting at $833 per month.

The affordable units at the 53-story Hub at 333 Schermerhorn St. include studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments open to individuals earning a range of incomes. 

Forty-six studios for $833 per month are available for single tenants earning between $29,898 and $38,100 per year.

Eighty-five one-bedroom apartments for $895 per month are available for single tenants earning between $32,058 and $38,100 per year, or for two tenants earning between $32,058 and $43,500 combined.

Nineteen two-bedrooms for $1,082 per month are available for two tenants earning between $38,503 and $43,500 per year, three tenants earning between $38,503 and $48,960 per year, or four tenants earning between $38,503 and $54,360 per year combined.

The rents also include gas for cooking and heat.

Amenities at the building, which may require additional fees, include 24/7 concierge service, a gym, a pool, a club room, a kids play room and a common terrace.

Five percent of the affordable units are set aside for mobility-disabled applicants, while 2 percent are set aside for vision or hearing-impaired applicants.

Preference for 50 percent of the units will be given to people already living in Brooklyn Community Board 2's catchment area and preference for 5 percent of the units will be given to city employees.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 15.
