CRIME BLOTTER: Skype Sex Tape Used to Blackmail College Student For $300

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A college student was blackmailed for cash after a women he met online threatened to send a sex recording to his friends and family, police said. 

The 21-year-old victim met the woman — described as a 25-year-old, 5-foot-8 blonde — online and they began to flirt via Skype around 4 a.m. on Oct. 4 while he was at a Gold Street apartment, authorities said.

The woman began to take off her clothes, then said to the man, "I want you to get naked," according to the police report. The victim complied and the woman then began recording him "doing explicited [sic] things," according to the report.

Afterward, the woman said she planned to share the video with the victim's friends and family if he did not pay her $300. The victim told the woman that he was a college student and did not have that much money, police said.

The man blocked the woman from Skype and deleted his Facebook page, but the video had been sent to three of his Facebook friends from his page the next day, authorities said. 

Other notable crimes in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:

► Almost $3,000 worth of clothes were stolen from a woman's car parked on Willow Street on Oct. 2 or Oct.3 The car's window was broken and the stolen property included three winter coats, 12 sweaters from Banana Republic and J. Crew, a women's suit jacket, an Ann Taylor suit, an Ann Taylor sweater dress, four blouses, a pair of velvet pants and a tweed blazer for men.

► A 30-year-old man's wallet, iPhone and miscellaneous cards were stolen while he was playing soccer at Brooklyn Bridge Park on Oct. 6 from 8 to 9 p.m. He left his valuables on the side of the soccer field as he was playing. 

► Two women attacked another woman with a glass bottle and fled with her cellphone. The 28-year-old victim got into an argument with the two women after the latter nearly hit her with their car near Bridge Street and Willoughby Street on Oct. 7 at 6:15 p.m. One of the women then hit the victim on the head with a glass bottle causing injuries. They left the scene with the victim's phone, license, MetroCard and miscellaneous cards.

► A tourist from Australia was standing at Prospect Street and Jay Street when a man on a cycle snatched her cellphone from her hand and fled on Oct. 8 at about 11 a.m. The stolen phone was a Samsung Galaxy with a Union Jack phone cover.
