DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A man was stabbed twice by a stranger on a Downtown Brooklyn street corner, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was stabbed in the torso by the attacker, whom he didn't know, around 8 p.m. on Aug. 14 near Willoughby and Jay streets, according to a police report.

The victim was able to walk to Cobble Hill following the attack and did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police did not release a description of the attacker, and no arrests have been made.

Other notable crimes in the Downtown Brooklyn area include:

► A 47-year-old man was sitting in front of 343 Gold St. when four teens approached him and stole his Samsung cellphone around midnight on Aug. 15, police said. The teens fled westbound on Myrtle Avenue.

► A 31-year-old man’s cellphone, wallet and passport were stolen when he fell asleep while waiting for the D Train at the Atlantic Avenue subway station at 2 a.m. on Aug. 19, police said.

► A 34-year-old woman’s purse containing $180 in cash was stolen while she was shopping at the Rainbow Shop at 493 Fulton St. around 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 20. The woman said she saw her purse in her handbag earlier while shopping in the store, and noticed it was missing when she tried to pay. A store representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
