By Ewa Kern-Jedrychowska | August 17, 2016 10:25am

QUEENS — A man died Tuesday night after he dashed into traffic in St. Albans and was hit by a car, police said.

William Wine, 29, was trying to cross Merrick Boulevard mid-block near Victoria Road only a block away from where he lived shortly after 10:30 p.m., police said.

He jumped from a raised concrete center median and was hit by a 2001 Honda Accord traveling southbound on Merrick Boulevard, according to investigators.

Wine, who suffered severe trauma to the head and body, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The 28-year-old driver of the Honda remained at the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
