
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A man who took a snooze on a northbound 3 train last week in Downtown Brooklyn woke up to find someone had stolen more than $3,000 worth of his camera equipment, police said.
The man boarded the train around 4 a.m. at the Atlantic Avenue station and stayed on until he fell asleep sometime around 7 a.m., the police report said.
He woke up a short time later and discovered that his backpack — containing a Canon T3i camera, a GoPro camera, an iPhone 4 and two hard drives — had been stolen, police said.
The equipment was worth $3,250 in total, police said.
The victim’s passport and ID were also in the backpack, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Other notable crimes from the 84th precinct include:
►A suspect broke into Aegir Boardworks, at 99 Water St., by throwing a rock into the window sometime between 8:30 p.m. on June 26 and 7:30 a.m. on June 27 and stole four skateboards worth $800 total, police said.
►A 30-year-old woman was sitting on a bench at Joralemon and Adams streets around 11:20 a.m. on June 27 when another woman punched her in the face and stomach and tried to steal her phone before taking off empty-handed, police said.
►A 22-year-old woman had $2,500 stolen from her purse after she left it on a bench in Kings County Criminal Court just after midnight on July 2, police said.
►Two men stole a $100 bill from a 16-year-old boy who accidentally handed one of the men the bill after one of them asked for change in front of 458 Fulton St. at 2:30 p.m. on July 3, police said.
