FORT GREENE — A woman used credit cards she stole from a victim's purse in a Fort Greene cafe to make $9,200 in purchases from Barneys, according to police.

The purse was hanging on the back of the 37-year-old victim's chair while she was at the Greene Grape Annex, at 753 Fulton St., on May 24 around 9:45 a.m., the NYPD said.

The suspect took the woman’s wallet from the purse when her back was turned, police said.

The wallet contained $20 in cash and several credit cards, which the suspect used to purchase $9,200 worth of merchandise from Barneys.com.

A representative for Greene Grape Annex was not immediately available for comment.

Police are now looking for the suspect, who they say is a woman in her 20s who was last seen wearing a pink hat, a gray sweater and gray pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
