DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A man was arrested for jumping a turnstile and choking a woman at the Borough Hall subway station, police said.

The 23-year-old victim had gotten into an argument with Thierno Ly, 21, just outside the turnstile for the 4/5 line around 1:45 p.m. on May 19, according to the NYPD

“I’ll punch you, I’ll kill you,” Ly said to the woman, whom he didn’t know, according to police.

When the woman walked through the turnstile to get away from the man, Ly hopped over it and grabbed her by the throat, police said.

He then pushed her against a wall, causing her to bang her head against it, according to police.

Ly kept his hand around her neck until other passengers separated them, police said.

After Ly let go, the woman said she felt light-headed and vomited, police said. She was taken to Brooklyn Hospital for treatment.

Ly was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, attempted assault, menacing and harassment, prosecutors said.

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 7.

Ly’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
