Officer Hurt in Fort Greene Drug Bust, Police Say

FORT GREENE — A police officer was injured as he was busting a drug deal in Fort Greene last week, according to the NYPD.

The officer saw 29-year-old Christopher McEaddy give another man a white substance in exchange for cash at South Oxford Place and Hanson Place at 11:50 a.m. on April 20, according to a criminal complaint.

The officer approached the two men and ordered McEaddy to stop and take his hands out of his pockets, according to the complaint.

McEaddy ran off, but the officer caught up to him a block away and tried to arrest him, the complaint said.

McEaddy resisted and shoved the officer to the ground, according to the complaint.

The officer sustained cuts to his elbow and hand, and had to get stitches, according to police.

McEaddy was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. Police did not arrest the second man.

Attorney information for McEaddy was not immediately available.

Other notable crimes from the 88th precinct, according to police, include:

►A 62-year-old man was hit in the face with a blunt object by a stranger, giving him a bloody nose, as he was walking at Ashland Place and Fulton Street at 9:10 p.m. on April 19. The suspect fled eastbound on Fulton Street.

►A 23-year-old woman got into a fight with her 25-year-old roommate who grabbed a kitchen knife and tried to stab the other woman on April 20 at 9 a.m. at 105 Carlton Ave. Police arrived and stopped the attack by taking the knife away from the roommate.

►A 15-year-old boy was walking with a friend at Carlton and Lafayette avenues at 6 p.m. on April 21 when a group of at least 10 other teens approached him from behind and tried to take his iPhone. One of the other teens took yanked out the victim’s headphones and punched him on the right side of the face, causing pain and swelling.

►A 32-year-old woman was ordering a coffee at the Greene Grape Annex at 91 South Portland Ave. at 2 p.m. on April 22 when she turned her back and someone stole her purse, then later used her credit cards at several stores.

►A 42-year-old man was walking southbound on Washington Avenue at Lafayette Avenue at 9:22 p.m. on April 22 when three suspects walked past him and punched him on the left side of the face, causing cuts to his ear and lip. The suspects took a white bag containing two bottles of wine, a wedding card and a check, then fled northbound on Washington Avenue.
