FORT GREENE — A man faked a heart attack in the back of a livery cab in Fort Greene last week, then when the concerned driver pulled over to call 911, he and his partner stole the vehicle, according to police and prosecutors.

Larry Young and James Dunn got into the cab at North Portland Avenue near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway last Saturday at 1:55 a.m., prosecutors said.

The driver started traveling towards Staten Island when one of the passengers said his friend was having a heart attack, according to a police report.

The driver stopped and started to call 911, but the other passenger grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him out of the cab before driving off, police said.

Police officers caught up with the stolen cab at Fulton Street and Hale Avenue in Cypress Hills at 3:45 a.m., officials said.

When officers tried to apprehend the two suspects, they tried to run over one of the officers and ended up crashing into a police car, according to the police report.

When the cab driver got his car back, he noticed his GPS, EZ Pass, credit card reader and phone charger had been ripped out, prosecutors said.

Young and Dunn were charged with robbery, grand larceny, criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, according to prosecutors.

Young is being held on $25,000 bond and Dunn is being held on $10,000 bond, court records show. They are both scheduled to appear in court on April 21.

Young’s Brooklyn Defender Services attorney Amanda Jack did not immediately comment on the case. Attorney information was not available for Dunn.
